Stearic acid is a vegetable derivative which is used as the main natural emulsifier in several products such as creams, lotions, deodorants, soaps. When added to a soap mixture, this ingredient will produce a harder bar with a more stable foam. Stearic acid is also used in the manufacture of natural candles. Stearic acid allows a longer burning time of your candles and gives an opaque white appearance to your candles.
For candles: add 50g per pound of wax
