Botanical Name: Acacia concinna
Aritha (Reetha) wash nuts come from India. These are nuts that contain saponins, substances with foaming properties.
Saponin is a natural, non-ionic surfactant which dissolves in contact with water and thus accomplishes its washing power and is hypoallergic. Wash nuts have been used as a detergent for centuries.
The washing nuts are entirely vegetable. They preserve the luster and colors of washed clothes and are safe for all types of fibers.
Washing nuts can also be used as decoction as an eco-friendly detergent for all kinds of cosmetic or household applications such as laundry, shampoo etc.
